MY SCRAPROOM RULES - Week 3 layout

The weekly challenge for week 3 was set by the amazing and adorable Alicia Barry...

Now, with the whole My Scraproom Rules competition being based around the TV reality cooking shows, Leish decided to set us a Mystery Box challenge with a twist...

We had to translate seven (7) basic cooking ingredients into scrapping supplies and then use them (and only them) to whip up our creation for the week PLUS we had to explain our choices and their application to our creations...

The seven (7) ingredients were: Flour; Pastry; Oil; Mixed herbs; Meat; Pasta; Sugar.

I chose to translate them into my layout as follows:

1. Flour = Patterned Paper - always the basis of any good recipe, flour is a necessity, and when substituting Patterned Paper for flour you have the perfect beginning to any layout to rise up from - and my 3 little butterflies are also cut from patterned paper...

2. Pastry = Chippie Title - I don’t know about you, but I love my pastry to be crispy and crunchy and nothing adds a little crunch to a layout like a good piece of chippie, especially when it’s a cutie like my Dancing Queen title from the Scrapping Outback shop!

3. Oil = Ink - no dish could be held together without the binding qualities of oil, and for me, ink has drawn in my creation by colouring my S.O. chippie title and lightly distressing the edges of my page.

4. Mixed herbs = Thread - mixed herbs are so often the basis of flavour, pulling together other ingredients, so for my creation; the thread is holding my sweet sugary buttons in place...

5. Meat = Flowers - protein is meant to sustain us, and I just could not survive without my flowers...

6. Pasta = Ribbons - sometimes plain, sometimes curly, but always a good side with any meal (or photo - te-he-he)...

7. Sugar = Buttons – sweet little clusters of buttons sprinkled around like a dusting of dusting of sugary goodness...

Here's what I came up with and some close-ups of my seven (7) ingredients:
